The Cutaneous lesions. resulting from the allergenic effects of the products of fungi are generally called Dermatophytids.
Trichophytids, microsporids, Epidermophytids are specific names, applicable when the specific causative agent is known.
Dermatophytids are secondary eruptions occurring in specifically sensitized individuals as a result of the hematogenous spread of fungi or their allergic products from a primary focus of fungal infection.
In a patient with Dermatophytids, a primary fungus lesion usually can be found and fungi can be demonstrated in such a focus; fungi are not found in the secondary lesions, and the patient reacts positively to skin test with trichophytin.
Morphologically Dermatophytids are not true fungal infection.
These phenomenon are developed to many other dermotoses such as Auto sensitization dermatitis, bacterids, tuberculids etc.
Also, Dermatophytids are called "Ids" reaction.
